Practical Assessment of Clinical Examination Skills
Led by expert consultants and registrars, delivering high quality teaching sessions with mock stations involving real patients over two days.
PACES (Practical Assessment of Clinical Examination Skills) forms the final part of MRCP UK Part 2. According The Royal College of Physicians, candidates must have sat the MRCP part 1 within the last 7 years of before taking PACES (1). The exam consists of five stations in a clinical setting with eight patient interactions and lasts half a day. Candidates are tested on a variety of skills as per RCP standards (2).
The course consists of two full days. First day is a series of lectures covering all aspects of knowledge and skills tested in the exam. The second day consists of back-to-back mock exams with individually tailored feedback.
Our paces course is designed and led by consultants who volunteer as examiners in the real PACES exam. With abundance of teaching experience, our course providers deliver to the standard set by the RCP in the real exam.
Candidates will get a chance to examine and interact real patients with clinical signs as well as expert actors specialising in medical teaching
Replica of the real exam
The mock exams will mirror the real exam in terms of stations and timings as described by the carousel of PACES stations by RCP (3).
All candidates will be given their mark sheets at each mock interview station. They will be provided with face to face as well as written hints and tips on how to improve for the actual exam
Only a limited number of candidates will have a chance to book onto the PACES course at each cycle to ensure high quality of teaching.
